Southern Swamp Associated Gas Project SSAGP – CEIP.

Project Details

Title: Southern Swamp Associated Gas Project SSAGP – CEIP.

Client: Shell Petroleum Development Company SPDC

Location: Niger Delta, Nigeria

Date: 2024

description

The Southern Swamp area comprises 10 fully appraised fields, 10 partially appraised fields (PAFs) and 4 un-appraised developments (UADs) with Scope For Recovery (SFR) in the range of 857.7 MMboe. The fields are situated in OMLs 35 and 46 in the coastal swamp area, 65km South of Warri. All existing production in the area are gathered into four flowstations at Tunu, Ogbotobo, Benisede and Opukushi.

The produced oil in the area is evacuated via the Trans Ramos pipeline to Forcados Terminal whilst the associated gas is currently flared, and the fields are at a risk of being shut down if the project is not completed by the target On-Stream Date (OSD) of December 2014.

The Southern Swamp Integrated Oil & Gas Project (SSIOGP) was initiated in October 1999 with a mandate for further oil development and ending routine flaring in the flow stations. Between 1999 and 2008 the project passed through a number of re-framing efforts as an i) oil development + Associated Gas Gathering (AGSAGS) project, ii) oil, Non-Associated Gas (NAG) development + AGSAGS and iii) No

The new project concept for SSAGS is primarily to eliminate routine flaring associated with oil production of circa 150 MMboe NFA volumes. The infrastructure to be provided will also enable an incremental development of additional 125 MMboe through drilling 21 oil wells and 2 NAG wells. The production forecast for this development peaks at 80 Mbopd and 140 MMscf/d with NAG contributing up to 100 MMscf/d. Gas will be exported to ELPS via the existing 24”OGGS line from EA RP-A to Forcados Yokri (reverse flow) and the existing 16”line from FYIP CPF to Odidi. A new pipeline will be installed from Tunu to EA RP-A. In order to allow gas from Southern Swamp to reverse flow through OGGS to FYIP, a new manifold was installed on EA RP-A in Q1 2011.
