Details

This three-day course focuses on P&ID drawings used in the oil, gas & petrochemical industries by engineers in the design phase, and by operations and maintenance staff once facilities are up and running. This course, developed out of best practice recommendations and extensive industry experience, provides you with fundamental knowledge required to read, interpret, apply and generate P&ID , which making this course beneficial to engineers, designers, software programmers, system integrators, and technicians.

The combination of classroom instruction and workshop exercises focuses on critical documentation essential to the safe day-to-day operation of facilities (e.g., P&ID, PFD, Plot Plan, Electrical Area Classification, Piping Drawing, Isometric Drawing, Line List, Tie-In List and Shutdown Keys).

  • New graduates who aspire to have a dynamic career
  • Project Management Teams and Approval Managers
  • Design Team Members – Design & Drafting Personnel, Piping Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Process Engineers.
  • Operating Supervisors and Technicians
  • Maintenance Supervisors and Technicians
  • Non-technical personnel assigned to positions in petroleum refineries, corporate offices, suppliers, and other interrelated companies.
  • Other professionals who desire a better understanding of subject

At the end of this course, you should know:

  • P&ID and PFD Symbol & Legends including the standards for line symbols and the different kinds of instrumentation.
  • Process components including pressure, temperature, level, and flow components,
  • Valve body symbols.
  • Actuator symbols.
  • Miscellaneous symbols.
  • Control loops and their functions.
  • Equipment Symbols.
  • Motor details.
  • API Pump Seals.
  • Required instrumentation & control for each equipment (Pumps, Compressors, HX, Vessels, Tanks).
  • Required minimum information for piping components.
  • Required minimum information for instrumentation (PSVs, Control Valves, BDVs).
  • Required details for each P&ID (General, Notes, Continuation).
  • Different types of process control systems and their applications.
  • Required documentation for P&ID development.
  • Activities required for P&ID development.
