This course reviews the design and operating principles of control valves for different applications. It presents the sizing and selection methods for a broad variety of control valve assemblies. This course also provides methods that can be used to identify specific valve problems and arrive at acceptable solutions within engineering tolerance.
Students will solve several demonstration sizing and selection problems using published materials and participate in equipment demonstrations as well as hands-on workshops. Students who complete this course will:
- Select the proper valve characteristic for a given process.
- Choose suitable styles of control valves for an application.
- Size control valves for different services.
